Inter Miami led by eight-time Ballon d’Or and World Cup winner Lionel Messi are set to play in Hong Kong on 4 February 2024 at the 40,000-seated Hong Kong Stadium.
The Herons will play their first-ever global tour game against top players from the Hong Kong First Division League as part of the inaugural Tatler XFEST.
“Hong Kong is a beautiful city with a great sports scene,” said David Beckham, president and co-owner of Inter Miami in a press release. “Throughout my career, I have spent a lot of time in Asia – I am so pleased to have the opportunity to bring Inter Miami to play our first international tour match in this fantastic city.”

Messi’s last visit to the city was in 2014 against Hong Kong in a 7-0 defeat. Will the World Cup winner make a double in Hong Kong? Inter Miami have looked a much better side since the Argentinian signed for the club in July, along with his former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. The Athletic even reported that another of Messi’s ex-teammate and friends Luis Suarez is set to join Beckham’s team.
Jorge Mas, Inter Miami’s managing owner said, “From the very beginning we set out to be a global club at Inter Miami. This is a wonderful opportunity to do just that; we hope to enthuse and inspire new Inter Miami fans in Hong Kong and across Asia who share our passion for football.”
The match-day ticket sales will go up on 15 December and cost between HK$880 and HK$4,880 only on the travel app Klook. Inter Miami will also hold an open training session costing between HK$580 and HK$780 on 3 February.
