Curtain comes down on House of Dancing Water Link copied
Fifty remaining workers let go at the end of a decade of shows which amazed tens of thousands of audience members.
The last 50 House of Dancing Water workers – who had been kept on after the spectacular at the City of Dreams was suspended – have been laid off, TDM Radio reported.
After wowing audiences for 10 years with its dazzling display of artistry, the show was put on hold by Melco Resorts in November 2020 due to the downturn in visitors caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
More than 130 non-resident workers were let go.
Fifty remaining employees, all from Macao, continued to work a three-day week after taking a 40 per cent pay cut.
Their contracts were set to run out this month.
Melco Resorts had indicated the show would restart after a revamp by creator Franco Dragone, however plans were postponed due to the pandemic.
