The sector has the 70th Grand Prix, the Macao Food Festival, and two Westlife concerts to look forward to – and pull in the crowds.
Tourism industry leaders expect the 70th Macau Grand Prix to draw in 100,000 visitors a day and fill race-handy hotels to 90 percent, according to multiple media reports.
Andy Wu, chairman of the Travel Industry Council of Macau, said these expectations were based on the return of international races, which were not held during the pandemic. These are the FIA Formula 3 and Macau GT World Cups and the Macau Guia Race (part of the TCR World Tour).
On Tuesday, the director of the Sports Bureau, Pun Weng Kun, said 90 percent of tickets for the Grand Prix’s final day had been sold.

The Macau Grand Prix consists of 11 races – including the Macau Motorcycle GP, which holds its 55th edition this year – and runs across two successive weekends (11-12 and 16-19 November).
In addition to bringing in the crowds, Morgan Stanley has reportedly said that the Grand Prix should boost November’s gaming earnings.
Two Westlife concerts scheduled for 18 and 19 November, as well as the 23rd Macau Food Festival (17 November to 3 December), are also laying the foundations for a busy month.
