Macao will host the Chinese Tennis Association Tour Pro Finals in December Link copied
The Chinese championship will take place on the heels of the inaugural MGM Macau Tennis Masters, an international invitation-only tournament.
The 2023 Chinese Tennis Association (CTA) Tour Professional Finals and the National Tennis Championships are set to be held in Macao in December, the Macau Post Daily reports. It will be the SAR’s third consecutive year hosting the joint event.
Top players from mainland China will compete in four categories – men’s and women’s singles and doubles – between 4 and 10 December.
Pun Weng Kun, head of Macao’s Sports Bureau, told media that the prestigious fixture would help strengthen sports exchanges between Macao and the mainland, plus enhance the city’s image as a destination for sports and tourism.

The CTA Tour Professional Finals and the National Tennis Championships will take place on the heels of the inaugural MGM Macau Tennis Masters – an invitational tournament that has reportedly secured a number of big-name international tennis stars to compete.
Chinese tennis players have made significant progress over the past few years, with the likes of Zhang Zhizhen, Wu Yibing and Zheng Qinwen earning increasing recognition on the world stage.
The CTA Tour Professional Finals and the National Tennis Championships are co-organised by the Tennis Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Sports Youth Program Center of the Central Radio and Television Station, the CTA, and Macao’s Sports Bureau.
